Fanya Oz-Salzberger, the daughter of Amos Oz, responded to the accusations made by her sister, Galia Oz, in her book that their father used to abuse her and that he was violent towards her.
"We, Nili, Fanya and Daniel, knew another father. A warm, cordial, attentive father who loved his family with a soul full of care, devotion and sacrifice. Most of the accusations that Galia throws at him now completely contradict the strong memory that has been imprinted on us throughout our lives.
" Galia decided Disconnect all contact with us about seven years ago. The claims she made then towards all of us caught us by surprise. Although he did not identify himself with her accusations, Dad tried and hoped right up until his last day to talk to her and understand her, even about the things that seemed to him and us to be contrary to reality. Galia's pain is probably real and heartbreaking, but we remember differently. It's completely different. "
