(ANSA) - PERUGIA, 21 FEB - The "red areas" for the Covid emergency "cannot be supplied with vaccines with the criterion of proportionality with the population, but must have greater supplies capable of extinguishing the 'ongoing fire' and avoiding that the virus spreads to other territories ".
This was underlined by the Regional Operating Committee which decided to send a letter to the extraordinary Commissioner for the Covid emergency, Domenico Arcuri signed by the directors of the Umbria Region Claudio Dario, Health, and Stefano Nodessi, Infrastructure and civil protection.
The letter was sent - explains the Region - to "reiterate and support the request for a rapid supply for Umbria of 50,000 vaccines, already formalized by the same President of the Umbria Region, Donatella Tesei, also to the Minister for Health, Roberto Speranza , on the occasion of his recent visit ".
Request motivated by the epidemiological trend that has seen a "considerable increase" in the circulation of the virus, especially in the province of Perugia.
