(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 21 - The German Jürgen Müller, cofounder of La Fura dels Baus and one of the six artistic directors of the theater company, died last Friday at the age of 65 from a lung disease he had had for 10 years.

This was announced by the same company based in Barcelona.

Müller (Weiterdingen, 1955) was the actor of La Fura dels Baus who made the most personal representations and he was also the actor who best mastered the physical body, Butoh dance and his interpretation of the theater of cruelty, as he wrote the same company.

Müller, who came to Barcelona to study contemporary dance and mimicry at the Institut del Teatre, participated in the creation and execution of the first La Fura shows, creating the so-called "furero language".

La Fura dels Baus is one of the oldest theater companies, with 42 years of history, and half a thousand innovative artistic projects, with a conceptual and never predictable approach, Muller remained active until the end as one of the artistic directors of the company and that he liked define "a phenomenosociopolitical".

Due to his lung ailments, he has been forced to live with a machine that helped him breathe for the past ten years.

The other artistic directors of Fura dels Baus are Miki Espuma, Pep Gatell, Alex Ollé, Carlus Padrissa and Pera Tantiñá.
