While the scandal over the "VIP vaccination" continues, the Ministry of Health reported
5,417 new cases
of coronavirus on
Monday
and another
163 deaths
in the last 24 hours.
In this way, Argentina has recorded
51,359 fatalities and 2,069,751 infections
since the beginning of the pandemic, figures that keep the country among the 13 with the most deaths and among the 12 with the most infected drinking.
The province of Buenos Aires registered the highest number of cases, with
1,999 positives
, followed by the City of Buenos Aires (825), Córdoba (402), Santa Fe (330) and Neuquén (210).
They are followed by Tucumán (151), Corrientes (142), Chubut (141), Misiones (127), Santa Cruz (124), Chaco (124), Río Negro (119), Entre Ríos (110), Catamarca (85), Mendoza (78), Salta (74), San Juan (71), La Pampa (71), Formosa (57), Jujuy (48), Tierra del Fuego (42), Santiago del Estero (36), La Rioja (28 ) and San Luis (23).

3,550 remain hospitalized in Intensive Care Units (ICU)

In the last 24 hours, 42,145 tests were carried out and 7,174,337 diagnostic tests for this disease were carried out since the beginning of the outbreak, which is equivalent to 159,429 samples per million inhabitants.
In the midst of the controversy over the vaccines applied to relatives and friends of national officials that prompted the departure of Ginés González García from the Ministry of Health, a new stage of the vaccination plan began this Monday in different districts.
While the City launched the immunization of those over 80 years of age, the Province began to apply the coronavirus vaccine to the personnel of the different security forces.
For older adults residing in Buenos Aires, this is the beginning of the second stage of the immunization plan for strategic groups and will be carried out in 29 centers throughout the City.
For that,
there will be the first 40 thousand doses of the Covishield vaccine
(from Oxford-Astrazeneca) that were granted to the City by the national government.
And they will also be applied to those who live in nursing homes.
As for the personnel of the force, the operation is carried out in Puente 12, in the Riccheri Highway and Camino de Cintura (La Matanza) and in the Juan Vucetich Police School, at kilometer 17.5 of the Centennial Road (Berazategui ).
Until this Monday morning,
a total of 2,768,177
people registered at https://vacunatepba.gba.gob.ar/ to express their will to receive immunization against the coronavirus in Buenos Aires territory.
40% of that total are older than 60 years;
30% are between 18 and 59 without risk pathologies;
12% are people from 18 to 59 with risk factors;
9% are teachers and assistants;
6% are health personnel;
2% are intensive care health personnel and 1% are security personnel.
