(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, FEBRUARY 22 - The EU Council has added Dominica to the list of non-cooperative jurisdictions, that is the tax havens.
Barbados were instead excluded from the 'blacklist'.
The decision to add Dominica is motivated by the fact that the Caribbean island has received a 'partially compliant' rating from the OECD Global Forum for Transparency and Information Exchange and has not yet complied with all international tax standards.
The EU instead granted Barbados, added to the 'blacklist' in October 2020, an additional review by the Global Forum on the commitments made to reform its tax policy. Pending the results of the analysis, Barbados end up on the EU gray list along with 8 other states, including Turkey. At the moment, the list of tax havens therefore includes 12 countries: American Samoa, Anguilla, Dominica, Fiji, Guam, Palau, Panama, Samoa, Seychelles, Trinidade Tobago, US Virgin Islands and Vanuatu.
