Four times I tried to watch Hot 8's new docu-series, "Broken Heart," which aired last night (Sunday).

The first time I stopped after a few minutes, the second time I was sucked into the phone only to find that the episode ended without me noticing it.

The third time I fell asleep.

For the fourth time I understood the problem.

This is a three-episode series, in which the singer Ivri Lider together with Prof. Yoram Yuval (known as the "brain researcher", but better to go around with the nickname "the brain digger") try to explore the secrets of the broken heart through meetings with a number of experts from various fields. The phenomenon from medical, psychological, scientific or spiritual angles.

Although this is a sensitive topic that is common to all human beings, this series is not sociable and very difficult to watch.

Her editing is awful, the seemingly deep interviews go nowhere, lyrics and half-songs pop up and disappear from the screen, the hosted artists (Arkady Duchin, Marina Maximilian, Eden Hasson and others) provide no special distinctions, and everything mixes with each other awkwardly.

And so a promising idea - to study the effects of the broken heart and its effects - does not crack, becoming a psychiatric-cardiological mess accompanied by a piano.
