ROME - Subsidized loans for the areas affected by the 2012 earthquake, validity of licenses for the use of pesticides and incentives for biogas plants: these are the main innovations introduced to the Chamber on the subject of agriculture during the conversion of the Dl Milleproroghe into law.

The regulatory interventions are added to what is already foreseen by the text: ie extension of the exemption from the obligations of submitting anti-mafia documentation for State aid of less than 25 thousand euros;

extension to 2021 of Eipli's fixed-term contracts;

suspension of the procedures for recovering aid granted to sugar refineries and of the deadline for accreditation of the bodies authorized to carry out the functions of control and certification of PDO and PGI wines.

Important results for Italian agriculture, "despite the delicate political moment", underline the president of the Agriculture Commission of the Chamber, Filippo Gallinella and the deputy M5s Giuseppe L'Abbate, former undersecretary for agricultural policies of the Conte II government.

Among all, for Gallinella, the extension for the use of subsidized loans to agricultural and agro-industrial enterprises hit by the earthquakes of 20 and 29 May 2012. "The economic damage due to the pandemic risks, in fact - he explains - to damage even more severely" these companies, extending the delivery times that can take up to 2 years ".

As regards the validity of the licenses for the use of pesticides, adds L'Abbate," the extension of the qualification certificates expiring in 2021, already scheduled for 2020 by the Relaunch Decree, it was necessary to ensure the effective fulfillment of the training obligation for the renewal of qualifications, made impossible by the persistence of the pandemic.

To this was added the important extension in terms of green and energy transition, obtained thanks to an amendment by my colleague Gianpaolo Cassese (M5s), of the incentives to agricultural businesses for biogas plants with power below 300 KW fed with by-products. from farming, agricultural, agro-industrial and forestry activities. "

The agricultural associations Coldiretti and Confagricoltura are satisfied, particularly in relation to biogas.
