The Minister of Economic Development Giancarlo Giorgetti will meet next Thursday at the Mise at 2.30 pm with the President of Farmindustria Massimo Scaccabarozzi for a first discussion on the possibility of producing the anti Covid vaccine in Italy.
"We were contacted yesterday by Minister Giorgetti to take stock of the situation on the possibilities of producing anti-Covid vaccines in Italy".
This was stated by the president of Farmindustria Massimo Scaccabarozzi.
"We will explain how a vaccine is produced and what the timing is. - he added - Now we are doing a survey among the companies associated with us to see who has the suitable machines (bioreactors) to possibly participate in production".
"The production of a vaccine is not like making other drugs: a vaccine is a live product, not a synthetic one, it must be treated in a particular way. The vaccine must have a bioreaction inside a machine that is called a bioreactor. In short, it is not that one presses a button and the vial comes out, 4-6 months pass from when production starts ", Scaccabarozzi underlined, specifying that this production process will be clarified in the meeting with Minister Giorgetti.
