Robbie Williams' life is being filmed by "Greatest Showman" director Michael Gracey

Robbie Williams' life becomes a film: After the singer recently went public with mainly conspiracy theories and vague band plans, fans can now look forward to a trip back to the good old days.

The announced feature film is said to be about Williams' rise as a musician.

As the portal deadline.com reports, the working title of the film should be »Better Man«, based on a song by the British musician.

The film will trace the career of the former Take That singer and explore Williams' "demons," director Michael Gracey told the portal.

"Greatest Showman" director

Gracey knows a lot about music films: He is the director of the musical "Greatest Showman" and producer of the Elton John film "Rocketman".

The idea for the biographical film about Williams came about after hours of talking with the singer, said Gracey.

Shooting should start in summer.

The film will portray Williams as a normal guy: It's not the story of a child prodigy or a musical genius.

"Robbie is that everyone who just had big dreams and followed them, and they took him to an incredible place," Gracey said.

Many people could identify with this, Gracey is certain.

Williams is a person who does not consider himself to be particularly talented, but had the will and the self-confidence to follow his dream.

"For us as audiences, it is a window into a world of 'what if I had pursued this impossible dream?' That so many of us have put aside."

Type of presentation "top secret"

That is why the story is so attractive.

"He's not the best singer or dancer, and yet he's managed to sell 80 million records worldwide," said Gracey.

It is clear that the most famous Williams songs should be heard.

How Robbie Williams is portrayed in the film is top secret, however, Gracey said.

"I want to do it in a really original way."

He wanted to make the audience feel like they have never seen anything like it.

"It's this fantastic story, and I want to show it in all of its harsh reality - right down to moments of pure fantasy," Gracey said.

Meanwhile, fans can not only look forward to the film: Williams recently announced that he wanted to found a combination of gallery and club in Berlin, and that he wanted to team up with two Australian colleagues to form a band.
