Adventure, nature, direct experiences, sustainability and the help of technology.

Thus Israel is preparing for the return of tourism, between the vaccination campaign that is proceeding rapidly and the arrival of spring, focusing everything on its more than 60 natural and archaeological parks, many of which are Unesco heritage (www.parks.org.il).

"We are working on a safe reopening," says Orit Steinfeld, Marketing Director of the Israel Nature and Park Authority.

In fact, throughout 2021, the Israeli Ministry of Tourism and the Israeli Ministry of Health will collaborate precisely to maintain a balance between health management and the economy, a sector of which tourism in the country is a fundamental part.

"Barely" as big as Lombardy (28,000 square kilometers) Israel is one of the few countries in the world to enjoy views of four seas: the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, the Dead Sea, considered the largest natural spa in the world, and Tiberias.

In addition to a nature that ranges from the desert of the south to the green woods and forests of the north and a melting pot of languages and populations that embody the millennial cultural heritage, of which every corner of the city and rock of the desert are a sign and testimony.

Without forgetting its two "pearls", the capital Jerusalem, the "navel of the world", and the "young" Tel Aviv, where you can always discover new trends.

Italy, less than four hours away by flight, represents the sixth world tourism market for Israel and the fifth among those with the best growing trends (in 2019, out of over 4.5 million visitors, 190-700 Italians arriving with + 77% on 2017).

The new measures already launched in the country's parks range from social distancing to tailor made services.

Precisely to avoid dangerous gatherings, we go from the strengthening of the online booking system for accesses to the calculation of the maximum capacity of visitors even in outdoor sites, with packages (Israel Pass) that allow you to visit even more parks and move with the public transport.

Accessibility for people with disabilities or reduced mobility has also increased.

But Israel, who has been there knows, is one of those places to return to several times in the different phases of one's life.

Here then is a multiplication of new experiences to live.

For lovers of walking there is only the embarrassment of choice along paths with breathtaking views, such as the one from Korazim to Capernaum, where Jesus began his preaching;

or the path that cuts through the mountains of Eilat in the Negev desert (you can also cycle the 300 kilometers from the Ramon crater in Eilat), up to the many sites for camping under the starry sky.

For nature lovers, accompanied by rangers, you can go to discover the fauna and the springs of the Einot Tsukim nature reserve or dive for a snorkel among the wonders of Eliat Coral Beach, the northernmost coral reserve in the world.

And why not, you can also volunteer to help clean up the beaches of the Dor Habonim Nature Reserve.

For history buffs, here is the unique opportunity to become "Archaeologists for a day" at Korazim National Park, near the city on the Sea of Galilee that Jesus condemned for rejecting him despite his mighty works.

Here, accompanied by experts, you can really experience the thrill of bringing history to light by digging and touching the land narrated by the Bible.

And there are also latest discoveries to visit, such as the Byzantine church of Banias, in the park built in the footsteps of the ancient Roman city of Caesarea Philippi.

A new, spectacular show, with nocturnal projections on the mountain, instead tells the epic story of the fortress of Masada, while at Herodium Park, right above the Herod's Theater, special videos reconstruct very delicate paintings.

The experience at Tel Megiddo has also been completely renewed, according to some interpretations of the Bible the place where the Last Judgment, or Armageddon, will happen.

Here a special journey takes the public from the time of the Bible to the final battle, told in the Apocalypse of John.

But going to Israel is always, even for non-believers, a journey through oneself and one's own cultural and spiritual roots.

There are therefore many possibilities to attend religious rites on the sites narrated by the Bible.

Like the Masses celebrated at the Museum of the Good Samaritan in Ma'ale Adumim, among the remains of the Byzantine monastery of Kursi National Park, the site of the Miracle of the Pigs of Jesus, in the Advat National Park or in the Banias Nature Reserve at the foot of the mountain Hermon.
