(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, FEB 24 - Joe Biden intends to call King Salman of Saudi Arabia today in view of the release scheduled for tomorrow of the US intelligence report which would confirm the involvement of his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in the murder of dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
Loriporta Axios, citing a source protected by anonymity.
"The report, an unclassified document produced by the Directorate of National Intelligence and expected tomorrow, implies that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is involved in the murder and dismemberment of Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Instabul in 2018," Axios writes. Bin Salman denied any involvement but accepted responsibility as the country's de facto leader. If it happens as scheduled, it will be the first phone call from the US president to the Saudi king. Bidenha decided to recalibrate the relationship with Riyadh, even choosing the king as his interlocutor, and not his son, as Donald Trump had done. (HANDLE).
