In the accident with a quad, a 17-year-old died on Wednesday.
According to the police in Middle Franconia, a 20-year-old man and the young person drove on a dirt road between Finstermühle and Brunnau in the early evening.
The vehicle went off the track and overturned in the ditch.
The 20-year-old was slightly injured, the 17-year-old suffered such serious injuries in the fall that she died at the scene of the accident.
The cause of the accident was unclear in the evening, the public prosecutor asked for an expert to clarify.
The fire brigade helped illuminate the accident site about a kilometer in the forest.
Quads are four-wheeled vehicles with a bench for two, rarely three people.
They are available in different sizes and engines.
As the ADAC writes on its website, quads have special driving characteristics that take some getting used to, especially for newbies.
Therefore, serious accidents often occur, especially with inexperienced drivers.
