Medical recognition and salary enhancement
In addition to the recognition of the medical nature of their profession by the authorities, midwives are also demanding a decent salary increase.
On the occasion of the Ségur de la santé last summer, the executive had granted an increase in the remuneration of midwives to the tune of 183 euros per month, that is to say that dedicated to non-medical professions, against 1000 euros for professions medical.
Midwives also want more staff in maternity hospitals.
They regret the lack of time given to patients and newborns.
The ONSFF is concerned about a drop in enrollment in midwifery schools in recent years.
Trade unions have already called for demonstrations again on March 8, on the occasion of International Women's Rights Day.
