(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 24 - The Draghi government is a sort of guarantee for the effective use of the 209 billion that Italy will receive from the European Recovery Fund by 2026. Moody's foresees in its report on the G20 economies.
"These funds - it says - could strengthen the country's growth prospects if directed and used effectively for public infrastructure and other growth-enhancing spending. The inauguration of a broad-based government of prime minister Mario Draghi increases the likelihood of this happening".
In the meantime, however, Moody's has cut its forecasts for Italian GDP growth this year from + 5.6% to + 3.7%, motivating the new estimates with the restrictions on mobility and economic activities still in force. The estimate for 2022 is a growth of 4.1%. (HANDLE).
