The government of Venezuela has declared the ambassador of the European Union (EU), Isabel Brilhante Pedrosa, a 'persona non grata',
giving her 72 hours to leave the country

Foreign Minister
Jorge Arreaza gave the diplomat a letter
containing the government decision.
The news was communicated via Twitter by Arreaza, who specified that "
by instruction of President Nicolas Maduro
, the ambassador of the European Union in our country, Isabel Brilhante Pedrosa, 'persona non grata' declares herself. She has 72 hours to leave the country".
On Monday, the European Union had added another 19 Venezuelan personalities to its pre-existing
list of sanctions
which now number 55, for their role in the attack on democracy and the rule of law in Venezuela. In this context, yesterday the National Assembly (AN), with a Chavista majority, had asked the government to expel Ambassador Brilhante Pedrosa.
