In 24 hours in Essonne, two teenagers were killed in clashes between rival gangs.
“We had never reached this level of seriousness,” says the Mayor of Boussy-Saint-Antoine.
Tuesday, a fight between gangs of young people resulted in the death of a 14-year-old boy in Boussy-Saint-Antoine.
He was killed with a stab in the stomach.
"We arrived at the scene" of the brawl between rival gangs and "it was like a show" with the public watching, said a witness.

According to a police source, the six young people arrested after the facts are 17 years old and the one who surrendered to the police by posing as the author of the fatal blow is 15 years old.
The latter went to the police station accompanied by his mother, according to the same source.
According to the prosecution, the brawl pitted Tuesday afternoon "about thirty young people" from Epinay-sous-Sénart (12,000 inhabitants) and Quincy-sous-Sénart (9,000 inhabitants).
"Since I was very young, I have known the culture of the confrontation between these two districts", deplores Romain Colas, mayor of Boussy-Saint-Antoine, "even if we had never reached this level of seriousness".

Monday, in the same department, an altercation between a dozen young people had already broken out near the college in the city of Saint-Chéron (5,000 inhabitants), near Etampes.

According to the prefect of Essonne, Eric Jalon, 91 brawls were recorded in 2020 in the department, against 56 in 2019. "These brawls between gangs have increased both in number, in intensity and in severity", a-t he declared Wednesday on Franceinfo.
"In seriousness, because before these two deaths [...], there had been two in the summer of 2020 in Massy and Draveil", continued the representative of the State in the department.
“We are in phenomena which are more or less organized, more or less structured, which can be triggered very quickly and which maintain rivalries or hatred between neighborhoods or between sectors, sometimes without being able to know the reasons.
They use simple weapons, ”Jalon added.

The Minister of the Interior, Gerald Darmanin, announced on Tuesday the sending to these two towns of reinforcements of the police: 60 gendarmes in Saint-Chéron and 30 police officers in Boussy-Saint-Antoine, according to his ministry.
