US actress Mandy Moore has had her first child.
“Gus is here.
Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith, ”wrote the 36-year-old on Instagram.
"He was on time and was born exactly on the expected due date, much to the delight of his parents." She also posted a baby photo.
Moore, who has been married to husband Taylor Goldsmith since 2018, was overjoyed: "We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of new ways, but it is beyond anything we could have imagined."
Colleagues like Rachel Bilson, Alison Brie and Ashley Benson congratulated Moore on Instagram.
The German Hollywood director Roland Emmerich, for whom Moore had last stood in front of the camera for the war drama "Midway", also sent congratulations under the post.
Appearances in "Scrubs" and "How I Met Your Mother"
Moore, who is also successful as a pop musician, celebrated her big breakthrough in the early 2000s.
Roles in »Suddenly Princess«, »Dr.
Dolittle 2 "and" Nur mit Dir - A Walk to Remember "made them famous.
Since then she has been known more to series fans.
Among other things, she worked temporarily in "Entourage", "Scrubs", "How I Met Your Mother" and "Grey's Anatomy".
It made headlines two years ago.
In 2019, Moore accused her ex-husband, singer and songwriter Ryan Adams, of sexual misconduct and manipulation, along with six other women.
He exercised control over music and emotionally abused women, Moore told the New York Times at the time.
The singer denies the allegations.
Moore and Adams were married in 2009 and divorced in June 2016.
Moore is quoted as saying in the newspaper that his “controlling behavior” prevented her from making new contacts in the industry in a “decisive” phase of her life.
