Armenia: EU calls for calm, avoid further escalation

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, FEBRUARY 25 - "The European Union is following developments in Armenia very closely and asks all actors to remain calm and avoid any rhetoric or actions that could lead to further escalation". The office of the EU High Representative Josep Borrell said unanimously.

    "Political differences are to be resolved peacefully and strictly adhering to the principles and processes of parliamentary democracy - continues the note -. In line with the Armenian Constitution, the armed forces will have to maintain neutrality in political matters and be under public control".
