(ANSA) - BANGKOK, FEBRUARY 25 - Facebook today closed all the remaining accounts connected to the Burmese Army: the same social network reported it, explaining that the decision was made in light of the use of "deadly" force by the junta against the anti-coup demonstrators.
The measure has immediate effect and also affects the Instagram accounts of both the military and unspecified "commercial entities" controlled by the army, which have also been prohibited from purchasing advertising space on the platform.
"The events after the February 1 coup, including deadly violence, have accelerated the need for this ban," Facebook said in a statement. (HANDLE).
