(ANSA) - GENOA, 25 FEB - She was a reserved 96-year-old lady from Genoa.

The archetype of Genoese understatement.

She disappeared on December 9th after preparing everything, even her own obituary.

He always greeted his affections there, thanked the doctors, and remembered "the long line" of former students.

Because until her retirement Marisa Cavanna had been a professor of literature.

The peculiarity, according to what was reconstructed by ANSA, is that in the will he left around 25 million euros in benefit to 16 institutions, many in the Genoese territory, such as the Gaslini hospital.

Or the Galliera, which also housed a prestigious villa.

The provenance of the professor's possessions is unknown, "Signorina Cavanna" as a longtime friend called her, but it is assumed that they belong to the family.

Far from worldly circles and reserved, very religious, she had never married and, even for her age, she had lived rather withdrawn from last time.

    For her the will speaks.

Five out of eight of the beneficiaries of the Cavanna inheritance, about 25 million euros out of the total 40, are institutions, non-profit associations.

Approximately 5 million euros of movable property will therefore go to Galliera, together with the proceeds from the sale to the highest bidder of the prestigious building in via Giordano Bruno in Genoa, located in a spectacular position a stone's throw from the sea, where Marisa lived.

It is estimated that it could be worth another 3 million euros or more.

All the furnishings are instead left to Don Orione diGenova, who receives another eighth of the Cavanna assets and cash (for about 5 million).

Another 5 million go to the Gaslini pediatric hospital in Genoa and 5 million to the Italian Association for Cancer Research.

Almost another 4 million (12/13) are then divided between: Amnesty International, Friends without borders, Save the Children, Don Carlo Gnocchi Foundation, Italian Association of Friends of Roul Follereau, Lega delFilo d'oro, Missionary Sisters of Charity, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Little Sisters of the Poor, Foundation Opera S.

Francesco dei Poveri, Don Bosco Missions Associations and Operad'Assistenza 'Smile project in the world'.
