Lady Gaga lands in Rome to play the part of Patrizia Reggiani in the new film 'Gucci' by Ridley Scott but the return to the set of the protagonist of "A Star is Born" has been ruined by news from Los Angeles: Ryan Fischer, the his trusty dog-walker, was attacked in the night near Sunset Boulevard and
the kidnappers ran off with two of the singer's beloved bulldogs
.
Gaga offered
half a million dollars for
Koji and Gustav's
ransom
.
A third dog, Miss Asia, owner of an Instagram account, escaped the kidnapping and was found by the police who returned him to a bodyguard of the pop star.
The Robbery-Homicide Division is now handling the investigation: a sign that the case is considered to be of high profile by the LAPD.
According to an initial reconstruction, two men would have come out of a white Nissan Altima with tinted windows and
one of them would have opened fire
on Fischer to whom Gaga has entrusted her dogs for years.
With the dog-walker lying on the ground, the two suspects would then get back in the car, running away with Koji and Gustav in the direction of Hollywood Boulevard.
Fischer had gone out to walk the three dogs shortly before ten in the evening.
Wounded by four semi-automatic gunshots in the chest and
hospitalized
, his condition is unclear: "Fortunately he is recovering," reported some American media.
Gaga, who
in Rome is shooting the part of the instigator of the murder of Maurizio Gucci
in 1995 (Reggiani was sentenced to 26 years in prison for her role in the murder), is very protective of her bulldogs and often, like four years ago at the Superbowl, he takes them with him when he travels for work.
This time, however, she had left the dogs at home and was desperate when she learned of the kidnapping.
It is unclear whether Koji and Gustav were the target of the kidnappers, given that French bulldogs belong to a particularly sought-after breed in the United States - the fourth most popular according to the American Kennel Club - with those of great pedigree reaching ratings of over 10 thousand dollars.
