Roberto Fernández, leader of the UTA, confirmed to Clarín that the transport union reached, this afternoon, a salary agreement with the employers of the sector, for which a strike by groups that they were considering carrying out on Friday was ruled out.
The union agreed to a compensatory salary increase for 2020, of 15 thousand pesos to be paid in three installments.
Thus, the first installment corresponding to last October will be paid in mid-March, the second -November- around April 15 and the final -of December- at the average May.
In addition, the parties promised to open the discussion by this year's parity from next March 4.
The arrangement and the decision not to stop the transport was defined in a meeting via Zoom between the trade unionists and the businessmen of the sector, which had an overseer from the Ministry of Transport and an official from the Ministry of Labor to endorse the agreement.
Thus, passenger transports throughout the country will maintain their usual schedule and services.
