She had brought a candidate whose father had got her for 40 D-Marks.

.
"The medal no longer has any ideal value for us, that's why we want to sell it," said the candidate (70) in the show - and use the proceeds of the money to have a nice family celebration.
Moderator Horst Lichter is enthusiastic about the coin.
But that was a “knock”, he enthused right from the start.
He was impressed.
"My God is beautiful."
His father was offered the coin
by a business friend in the
early
1970s
, the
candidate (70)
reports
on the program, and he wanted 40 D-Marks for it at the time.
A deal that turned out to be worth gold in retrospect.

Because the
memento
had never been in circulation as a coin, said jewelry expert
Heide Rezepa-Zabel
at the

firmly.
Rather, it is a
heavy gold medal
that was minted in 1955 on the occasion of the 300th birthday of Margrave von Baden.
The medal was issued in memory of the Peace of Rastatt.
Among other things, it shows a rider (in the background of the Rastatt castle).
The medal is in "excellent condition".

How much is the pretty
medal
worth?
The owner would like to have 3,500 to 4,000 euros for this, as he says on the show.
A
desired price
that seems quite realistic.
Rezepa-Zabel estimated the
material value
alone
at 3,370 euros
- and the
total price of the medal
at a sum
between 3,500 and 3,700 euros
.
The owner said that he was very happy about this price and would be curious to see what the dealers have to say about it.
Fortunately, the
“Bares for Rares” dealers Julian Schmitz-Avila
and
Christian Vechtel were
just as impressed with the gold coin.
In the end, Schmitz-Avila was awarded the
contract for an impressive 3,550 euros
.
The 40-mark purchase from back then is worth thousands of euros today.
No wonder that the seller was happy about this price - and with him certainly many “Bares for Rares” viewers, who should also have been amazed at the sums on offer for some special family-owned items.
