(ANSA) - LIMBIATE, FEBRUARY 26 - It was opened ten minutes early, because the line of people waiting almost invaded the street, the mortuary of Luca Attanasio, the Italian ambassador killed on Monday in Congo together with the carabiniere Vittorio Iacovacci and to the driver Mustapha Milompa.
After the state funeral yesterday in Rome, from today it is his country, Limbiate (Monza and Brianza), to which he was very attached, willing to pay homage to him.
The funeral parlor has been set up in the atrium of the Municipality: the coffin wrapped in the tricolor flag, the little badge of honor of the carabinieri in full uniform, a screen on which images and interviews of the ambassador are projected.
At the opening of the funeral parlor, Attanasio's widow and parents were present.
Tomorrow the public funeral will take place at the sports field celebrated by the archbishop of Milan Mario Delpini.
