Microsoft Italia opens the Cybersecurity Experience, a space dedicated to information security training and located within the Microsoft Technology Center of the Microsoft House in Milan.
"We aim to raise the awareness of large companies, SMEs and the Public Administration on cyber threats and to promote awareness of the tools available to protect themselves, as well as the value of Cloud Computing in support of resilience", explains the company.
The initiative is part of the commitment of Microsoft's five-year Ambition Italy #DigitalRestart plan, which includes $ 1.5 billion investment in technologies and skills to help the country grow.
In a landscape where credential theft is depopulated and criminal groups are increasingly able to rapidly evolve strategies, as evidenced by the increase in Covid-19-themed phishing campaigns, Italian companies show on average a low maturity on cybersecurity .
According to data from the Politecnico di Milano - Microsoft recalls - in the year of the pandemic and "forced" digitalization, cyber attacks increased for 40% of companies but 19% of large companies reduced the budget dedicated to security.
Microsoft's Cybersecurity Experience will offer demonstrations and simulations of interactive and customizable hacker attacks based on the sector, vulnerability activities and penetration tests, the importance of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in this sector will also be explained.
"It is essential that companies, institutions and policy makers come together and share information to promote a digital culture based on security", explains Andrea Cardillo, Director of the Microsoft Technology Center at Microsoft Italy.
