The Stiftung Warentest compared ten FFP2 protective masks with high effectiveness.
However, the result shows that three masks are "not very suitable".
Munich - She has been a constant companion since spring last year.
Whether in the subway, in the supermarket or in some public places: The mask forms the basis of the fight against pandemics, since the coronavirus spreads mainly through aerosols.
The mask offers a simple solution to prevent infection.
Especially since the vaccination campaign in Germany is paralyzing and distance regulations cannot always be adhered to.
The FFP2 mask has a special role in the fight against corona.
Because it not only inhibits the spread of aerosols to protect others, but also guarantees self-protection through the filter effect.
Stiftung Warentest has now published how ten FFP2 masks performed in the test.
FFP2 masks in the test: "Filter effect high for all"
The filter effect was high with all masks - the testers can only recommend six “Filtering Face Pieces” to a limited extent because they do not adapt well to different face shapes and therefore often do not fit tightly and thus reduce the protective effect.
The test winner is the FFP2 mask from 3M, as it impressed with its filter effect for aerosol particles, the breathing comfort and the fit.
Customers have to pay EUR 6.85 per mask.

Rossmann and dm: FFP2 masks do relatively poorly
The testers emphasized that users "absolutely" have to pay attention to a correct fit in order to provide the best possible protection against corona viruses.
An indication of this is the inflation of the mask when you exhale and the contraction when you inhale.
The mask from 3M was particularly impressive because of its good fit.
Stiftung Warentest considers the masks from dm, Rossmann and Hygisun to be "not very suitable".
Above all, the breathing comfort is "low", so that people who are not physically fit or stressed can only breathe through the masks with difficulty.
The filter effect, however, is high for every mask in the test.
