While the Covid-19 vaccination campaign is now well advanced in nursing homes in Bordeaux (Gironde), residents of the senior services residence Les jardins d'Arcadie demonstrated on Friday to be in turn vaccinated.

We are old but we would like to enjoy our grandchildren
,” Solange, 88, told France Bleu Gironde.
The Gironde prefecture has promised to quickly find vaccines for the 150 occupants of this residence for seniors.
Doses could arrive within ten days, reports the radio site.
In the Côte d'Armor, on the other hand, the same Les jardins d'Arcadie residence, in Perros-Guirec, was transformed on Tuesday into an anti-covid vaccination center for residents and staff, reports

Overall, the vaccination campaign is progressing among the elderly.
As of February 23, 80% of nursing home residents had received at least one dose of vaccine, and 50.6% had received both doses.
Public Health France (SpF) thus noted that "
the first effects
" of the vaccination campaign were emerging in those over 75 years old, with a drop in the incidence rate during the week of February 15, and, above all, a "
sharp decrease
”in deaths (-22.5%, or -143 deaths) in social establishments, including nursing homes, the previous week.
