Coronavirus: another 5,469 cases are reported and Argentina exceeded 2,100,000 infections

In its usual daily report, the Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Saturday

another 59 deaths and 5,469 new cases

of coronavirus throughout the country.

With these figures, Argentina accumulates 51,946 fatalities and 2,104,197 infections since the beginning of the pandemic.

Once again, cases were reported in all jurisdictions, the highest number in the province of Buenos Aires (2,409).

It was followed by the City of Buenos Aires (583), Córdoba (533), Santa Fe (379), Corrientes (172), Misiones (125), Mendoza (121), Catamarca (118), Salta (112), Entre Ríos ( 112) and Chaco (105).

Jujuy (93), Río Negro (85), Neuquén (83), Santiago del Estero (83), Chubut (77), Tucumán (73), Santa Cruz (69), La Pampa (53), Tierra del Fuego (39), San Luis (16), Formosa (12), San Juan (12) and La Rioja (5).

, which arrive this Sunday in the country, the Government seeks to complete the process of inoculation of health personnel and the elderly, and begin with the teachers of facing the beginning of the school year, while advancing in a series of measures to guarantee transparency in the process.


In the first week of Carla Vizzotti as Minister of Health, 904 thousand doses of Sinopharm were received from China on Thursday, to which the arrival of another 96 thousand doses will be added tomorrow, to complete the one million vaccines announced by the portfolio sanitary.


The arrival of Sinopharm vaccines will allow the start of

immunizing teaching staff

throughout the country, the government announced this week.


The Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero, explained -through his Twitter account- that the Government seeks to "guarantee the highest degree of presence possible (in schools), in a safe and careful way, and to achieve this, vaccination is a step very important".

This week they carried more than 900,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine.

This week, Vizzotti had announced that the doses that arrived would start the vaccination for teachers, divided into five priority groups.

Also for this Sunday afternoon the arrival of the two Aerolineas Argentinas planes that departed on Friday night from Ezeiza airport and are already in Moscow to load a significant number of doses of Sputnik V is expected. The delivery comes after the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RIDF) promised to regularize the provision, after the meetings that the presidential advisor Cecilia Nicolini held this week in Russia to normalize the deliveries.

At the same time as the arrival of new doses, Vizzotti promoted a series of measures to guarantee transparency in the inoculation process and quickly leave behind the anomalies detected in the vaccinations outside the protocol, which led to the departure of Ginés González García .

In fact, Vizzoti -who was diagnosed with coronavirus and remains isolated at home- announced the beginning of the distribution of the Sinopharm vaccine throughout the country that, in a first stage, a total of 492,400 assigned doses will be sent to all jurisdictions based on the population of each district.
