(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, FEB 27 - The maxi aid plan by American President Joe Biden to counter the harsh effects of the coronavirus in the country has been approved in the House and now passed to the Senate.

This is a 1.9 trillion dollar aid package, which will allow the country to allocate new funds to the anti-Covid vaccination program, to local governments as well as to millions of families devastated by the pandemic.

"After 12 months of death and despair, the American recovery begins tonight," said Pennsylvania Democrat lawmaker BrendanBoyle shortly before the plan was approved - after midnight local time - with 219 votes in favor and 212 against.

No Republican voted in favor of the package.
