Almost nine years after its presentation, Roma are forced to say goodbye to the Tor di Valle project.
The final word is put into the half-yearly report as of 31 December 2020 published by the club.
"The Board of Directors - reads the note - on the basis of the investigations conducted has verified that the conditions for confirming the interest in the use of the stadium to be built within the current real estate project relating to the Tor area no longer exist Di Valle, since the latter project has become impossible to execute ".
A decision, that of the Friedkin, which begins to take shape from the day of their settlement in Trigoria.
"We will evaluate any possibility on the stadium project" said the new management who had just arrived despite the club's desire to build a proprietary stadium in which to play the first team to increase their competitiveness.
The project, born under the Marino administration in 2012, is now obsolete for Dan and Ryan, never fully convinced by the Tor Di Valle stadium.
Evaluations that were also made present to the current Rays administration in a meeting at the end of September last year between the Friedkins and the Mayor in the American embassy in Rome.
However, from the Campidoglio they let it be known that 'our planned public works, such as the strengthening of the Rome-Lido railway and the construction of the Congress Bridge, will be carried out by the Capitoline administration'.
Roma, on the other hand, are already studying the alternatives because the club's goals include "creating a green, sustainable and integrated stadium with the territory, constructively discussing all the hypotheses".
Among the hypotheses, that of recovering the Flaminio stadium was also considered, but now the tracks can be many.
One thing, however, is certain: the dream of James Pallotta, former president of Rome, has been shattered.
