Mountaineer recovered during the night who fell on the Cuneo Alps

(ANSA) - TURIN, 27 FEB - The difficult recovery intervention of a mountaineer who fell for about ten meters with a companion, who was unharmed, in the intagliota Torre and Rocca Castello, in the Cuneo Alps of the ValleMaira, ended at dawn.

The man was joined by mountain rescue during the night and recovered through a complex system of mountaineering hoists.

The two then descended to Colle Greguri (2.319mt) With stretches in double rope and stretches to be climbed by rescuers, the injured mountaineer was entrusted to the care of the doctors and transferred to the hospital.

His condition is not serious.


    In the fall, held by the rope during the first rope climb, the mountaineer suffered a thoracic trauma and an upper limb, as well as various bruises.

    In the Piedmontese Alpine and Speleological Rescue team, assisted in the operation by the mountain rescue of the fire brigade and the financial police, there was a health worker who monitored the conditions of the injured person for the entire duration of the intervention.


    The mountaineer, who spent several hours on the ice wall, was able to actively participate in the operation both during the descent of the mountaineering section and from Colle Greguri to Chiappera, which he faced on his own legs.
