Damascus-Sana
The Ministry of Education announced the start of a campaign to combat parasitic worms targeting pupils and students of basic education schools, the first and second classes, from the first to the ninth grade, starting tomorrow, Monday.
The campaign, which is carried out in cooperation with the World Health Organization, continues according to a ministry statement. Sanaa received a copy for a period of three weeks. It includes the distribution of the drug "Albendazole" of 500 milligrams, at a rate of one tablet per student.
The Ministry confirmed that the medicine is safe, effective, chewable, with a flavor that is favorable to children, easy to swallow, and can be dissolved in water quickly.
The campaign aims to reduce the spread of intestinal parasites and prevent associated complications such as diarrhea, anemia and malnutrition, which ultimately affect the growth rate and concentration of school-age children.
