In times of distress, when times are hard and hope is sparse, what do people need to be encouraged if not a common enemy to band together against it?
Get Gwyneth Paltrow, the woman who wants to sell you mountain shoes for hundreds of dollars under the vague promise that it will help you recover faster than Corona.
Actress and Lifestyle Priestess in Her Own Eyes Gwyneth Paltrow posted on her Goop article an article in which she says she contracted Covid-19 in the "early stages" of the epidemic (she does not specify exactly when she fell ill) and that she has since been dealing with some of the persistent symptoms reported by no Few Corona recoverers.

Paltrow says she suffers from fatigue and brain fog and that blood tests she did in January revealed that the levels of inflammation in her body are very high.
The actress, who is known for her fondness for a variety of alternative therapies, turned to William Cole, a functional medicine consultant (whatever that may be), who adapted a diet he calls "intuitive fasting" (his book on the method is expected to be published in collaboration with Goop).
As part of the new diet, which Paltrow says is a kind of herbal keto diet, she fasts daily until 11 p.m.
In addition, it completely avoids sugar and alcohol.

She also said she is taking more supplements these days, especially zinc and vitamin C: "Will (William Cole) says they are critical for me right now," she wrote.
Later in the article - look surprised - Paltrow recommends a variety of products she is currently using to deal with her persistent symptoms (what is known as Long Covid), and here is a partial list of them:
Sauna blanket with infrared light $ 500
Serum before with hyaluronic acid and vitamin C $ 125
Training jersey $ 145
Hiking shoes $ 220
Goop T-Shirt $ 125
Necklace with a pendant $ 8,600
Needless to say, there is no research support to the aid of any of these expensive products for recovery from Covid-19.
Even the supplements that Paltrow takes because they are "critical" to her currently have no scientific evidence linking them to a faster or better recovery from the long-term consequences that accompany some corona recoverers.
Dietary supplements can still be debated (although again, a study published last week found that there is no evidence that zinc or vitamin C help speed recovery from Covid-19), but what good would a gold necklace or training vest cost you more than a monthly gym subscription?
All of these probably will not do too much for your health, but they will certainly provide a good livelihood for some people at Goop headquarters in California.
Well, okay.
It is also important to motivate the economy.
Feel free to roll your eyes.

This is not the first time that Paltrow and its site recommend a variety of treatments and products for health lice - Goop and Paltrow itself have been criticized over the years, and there has been at least one lawsuit on the subject, which also caused the site to add due diligence to some of the articles they publish. This is medical advice.
But it seems that in this case, Paltrow and Goop have crossed a new red line - these are no longer quirky articles about jade eggs for the vagina or exorbitant silk expectations that promise to eliminate wrinkles.
The corona plague is a serious global crisis and the long-term consequences of Covid-19 are only beginning to become clear to recoverers and doctors around the world.

Millions of people who have recovered from corona report symptoms that continue to strike even weeks and months after recovery - from fatigue and brain fog to more frightening and stressful symptoms such as shortness of breath, hair loss and even tooth loss.
Because corona is a relatively new disease, researchers and doctors are still studying it and do not always know how to offer answers and answers to those patients who long to know when they will finally feel better and come back to themselves.
The fact that Goop does not hesitate to play on these anxieties and offer desperate people hope with a price tag of hundreds and thousands of dollars without having a shred of scientific evidence behind it, is in the eyes of many a vile and unethical act.
