Vanessa Bryant, the widow of the late NBA star Kobe Bryant, posted an angry Instagram post in which she came out against a tweet from actress Owen Rachel Wood - published more than a year ago.

In the tweet, which surfaced in January 2020 near Bryant's death, Wood wrote that what happened was tragic because her heart was broken for his family, but added: "He was a sports legend. He was also a rapist. These two truths can coexist," she wrote in a tweet that managed to provoke a storm.

Vanessa, it was reported, did not know about the tweet until recently, but yesterday (Saturday) decided to address it for the first time in an angry post she posted on her Instagram, where she took care to tag Wood as well: "It was brought to my attention," she wrote of the tweet. "Your false, insensitive, defamatory and defamatory tweet of January 26, 2020 is repulsive and repulsive, to say the least. Such behavior is part of the reason why innocent black men are imprisoned for crimes they did not commit. Guilt does not make a person guilty. You do not know what The facts of the case ", ended the angry post.

As mentioned, Wood's tweet provoked anger as soon as it surfaced.

It is presumed that this is an allusion to a charge of rape filed against Bryant in 2003 by an employee at a hotel where he was staying.

The criminal lawsuit was closed in 2004 when the complainant decided not to testify against him in a criminal trial, and was settled privately in 2005 after she filed a civil lawsuit against him.

Wood eventually removed the quote, not before responding in another series of tweets (which was also removed), in which she noted that her tweet was not meant to celebrate or discredit Bryant, but to serve as a reminder that people have different feelings about the case, and that there is room for everyone to mourn together Instead of fighting: "Everyone has experienced a loss. Everyone will have a trigger, so show courtesy and respect," she asked.

Kobe Bryant was killed in January 2020 in a helicopter crash along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other people.

Wood is a famous actress who has appeared in the series "True Blood" and "Westworld", and in the movies "13" and the wrestler.

Her name recently made headlines after she accused rocker Marilyn Manson who was her partner of severe sexual and physical abuse.
