After two postponements, unemployment insurance reform about to land

The government must present its arbitrations on Tuesday and intends to finalize in the coming weeks the decree which will ratify the future rules for the compensation of the unemployed.


This is the moment of truth for the executive ... After more than two years of twists and turns, postponements and endless consultations, the Minister of Labor, Élisabeth Borne, brings together the social partners for the last time on Tuesday to finally land the very controversial reform of unemployment insurance.

The minister's office will thus present in the morning, by videoconference, the arbitrations retained to the unions and the employers.

The objective is to finalize by the end of the month the decree which will mark in stone the future rules of unemployment insurance for application this summer.

And, on the eve of the rendering of copies, unions and employers alike do not expect a good surprise.

Last week, the Minister insisted once again that it was necessary to

"go to the end of this reform",

which at the same time must

"fight against precariousness"

"an issue of equity"
