The European Union introduces from today, in all member countries, "the new and improved energy label for household appliances" also sold online.

Legambiente reminds this, noting that "it is an important moment for the Green New Deal, the political pillar of the European Commission to guarantee a more sustainable future for its citizens", and that changes are also needed at the legislative level.

In particular, "a review of the parameters for the incentives of the furniture and household appliances bonus by the Revenue Agency is fundamental", according to the partners of the Belt and Label 2020 projects, two initiatives (the first promoted by Altroconsumo, Citta Metropolitana di Bologna and Erion, the second from Eliante and Legambiente) aimed at facilitating consumers in the transition from the old to the new system.

"Since its inception in 1994, the energy label has been one of the EU's most successful initiatives, because it helps consumers in the choice of efficient and sustainable products from an energy point of view, also allowing savings on consumption, explains the note. .

"The current legislation for obtaining the Furniture and Appliances Bonus, referring to the old labeling - adds Legambiente - encourages appliances from class A + (or at least from class A for washer-dryers and ovens) up, while for those products placed on the market starting from today with the new label, there is still no clear indication from the Revenue Agency. "

As for the labels, Legambiente reminds us that the current scale from A +++ to G is replaced by a simpler one that goes from A to G, without the plus symbol (+). Starting today, the new label will be introduced for appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, washing machines and washers-dryers, washers

crockery, televisions and electronic displays.

Older product models may show the previous label until the end of November 2021. (ANSA).
