Creating a short supply chain of excellence of fresh and hand-picked Genoese PDO Basil: this is how Genovese Storico was born, a new brand of this plant, a product of excellence in Liguria.
There are several objectives: to encourage small Genoese producers to join the PDO, operate on fundamental aspects, such as those of the identity and value recognition of this production "promoting the certification necessary to further qualify the product and to harmonize its presence in the commercial circuits" .
The project, which will be presented in the next few days by the Consortium for the Protection of Genoese Basil PDO, has as its primary purpose that of enhancing and developing the production of Basilico Genovese PDO in the "historical" area of the city, traditionally specialized in cultivation for the market fresh and in its manual harvest "(ANSA).
