The six
mythological
poems
that Titian painted in pairs for Philip II between 1553 and 1562 had not been seen for four centuries.
They got together in March 2020 in London for an exhibition that opened on a Monday and closed on Wednesday of the same week.
And there they stayed, in a National Gallery that was closed for seven of the nine months of the show due to the pandemic, catching up, making up for lost time.
