On the A2 between Braunschweig and Magdeburg, a car driver engaged in a chase with the police, in which four people were injured.
The 38-year-old driver simply accelerated at a traffic control, said a police spokesman.
As a result, the man and his 26-year-old passenger drove eastwards at more than 240 kilometers per hour.
According to the police, he finally left the autobahn near Magdeburg.
After he had rammed three patrol cars with his car, he could be stopped and arrested.
The man and three policemen were slightly injured in the accidents, according to police.
The persecution on Sunday afternoon lasted about an hour.
