Because a primary school child in Achberg near Lindau on Lake Constance was infected with the South African corona mutation, 150 people are in quarantine.
The school had to close again on Friday, just under a week after it opened, as the community has now announced.
Classmates and teachers of the boy and their families are affected by the quarantine.
Two kindergarten groups also had to be isolated as a precaution because a sibling of the student was being looked after there.
Where the boy was infected is unclear, said a spokeswoman for the community.
Stricter quarantine rules
Because one of the boy's teachers also tested positive, their contacts and their families also had to be quarantined.
However, it is still unclear whether this infection can also be traced back to a mutant.
Baden-Württemberg had tightened the quarantine rules for infections with corona mutants only last week because the virus variants are considered more contagious and spread faster.
First-degree contact persons have to be in isolation for 14 days instead of the previous ten.
And the members of the household are also affected by the quarantine if it is an infection with a mutation.
