Travel is likely to pose a particular risk in the corona pandemic.
Politicians now want to counteract this at least by sending an SMS to all those entering the country.
Munich - Traveling is difficult in the corona pandemic, but of course not impossible.
Whether for professional or private reasons.
The more people move back and forth between different countries, the more complicated it is of course to contain Sars-CoV-2 and its various variants.
The travelers' initiative is also required.
Since March 1st, they have been given a special reminder by the state.
Because in the course of the Infection Protection Act, the German mobile phone providers are now sending an SMS to everyone who enters Germany.
Corona measures for travelers via SMS: Information on entry and infection protection regulations
According to the Federal Ministry of Health, Section 8 of the Corona Entry Ordinance will be implemented.
This obliges Telekom, Vodafone and Co., "their customers who log back into their mobile network after more than 24 hours after using a foreign mobile network, as well as users of foreign mobile networks who log into their mobile network, immediately and barrier-free a short message from the federal government (...) in which reference is made to the entry and infection protection regulations applicable in the Federal Republic of Germany (...) as well as to the infection protection measures to be observed (...). "
The federal government makes the content available to the operators.
This ordinance was announced on January 13th and signed by Chancellor Angela Merkel and Health Minister Jens Spahn.

Corona measures for incoming travelers via SMS: Differentiation between three categories of countries and areas
Countries and regions that are struggling with the pandemic as hard as Germany are divided into three levels: risk areas, high incidence areas and virus variant areas.
The latter are initially subject to a transport ban until March 3, as well as some entry restrictions.
Only "very narrowly limited exceptions" are granted here.
Anyone who enters Germany after staying in one of the listed countries or regions must register beforehand and be able to prove a negative test.
In high-risk areas, the latter is also possible up to 48 hours after entry, in high-incidence areas there are at least a few exceptions.
This is followed by the quarantine obligation, depending on the respective federal state.
Exceptions are also possible, but only very rarely when entering from a virus variant area.
Additional SMS should now draw attention to all of this.
And thus practically inoculating the citizens with the corona measures.
Corona measures for immigrants via SMS: Israel and the USA are among the areas of high incidence
Currently, more than 120 countries - in whole or in part - are considered risk areas.
27 are designated as high incidence areas, including Israel and the United States.
This term includes areas that have multiple times the seven-day incidence in Germany and at least 200.
In addition, 16 nations such as Brazil, South Africa or Great Britain are listed as virus variant areas.
In these, a mutation of the new type of coronavirus was found widespread, "which does not also occur widespread in Germany and which can be assumed to pose a particular risk".
This could be reflected in easier transferability, an accelerated spread due to other characteristics, the following more severe course of the disease or a weak immunity of vaccinated persons.
As I said: Travel has now become a complicated and, moreover, also quite dangerous affair.
After all, French Polynesia and Curacao, two island states, were removed from the list of high-risk areas at the end of February.
Small bright spots in a time of uncertainty.
