Covid-19: 301 new deaths in hospital and 22,857 contaminations in 24 hours

In French hospitals, 3,586 patients are currently receiving intensive care, a figure that remains high.


It is still a plateau but it remains high.

This Tuesday, Public Health France counted 301 new deaths linked to Covid-19 in the country, as well as 22,857 new coronavirus contaminations.

These 301 deaths are recorded in hospitals.

Public Health France also counts 117 new deaths in nursing homes (total at 24,973) since Friday, according to a bi-weekly update.

The total number of deaths linked to the new coronavirus has risen to 87,220 in France since the start of the epidemic.

At the hospital, 25,263 Covid-19 patients are currently being treated, compared to 25,430 on Monday, and 25,660 last Tuesday.

Of this total, 3,586 are in intensive care, against 3,544 on Monday, and 3,435 last Tuesday.

A final figure that remains on a high plateau.

Over 3 million first injections

Public Health France also has 22,857 new contaminations detected in the last 24 hours, against 4,703 on Monday, and 20,064 last Tuesday.

On March 1, the health agency recorded 57,030 new vaccinations in 24 hours among the general public.

In nursing homes and in long-term care units, 83.3% of patients have received at least one injection of the vaccine against Covid-19.

To date, France has a combined total of 1,639,282 people vaccinated at two doses, and 3,036,605 first injections.
