Bunny Wailer, childhood friend of Bob Marley, died on Tuesday in Jamaica. He was the last survivor of the Wailers.

He was a legend.

He co-founded The Wailers in 1963 with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.

Bunny Wailer passed away at 73, this Tuesday, March 2, in Kingston, Jamaica.

The reggae star died in hospital, where he had been back and forth from a stroke last July, according to the Jamaica Observer newspaper.

Childhood friends Bunny Wailer and Bob Marley formed their group several years later.

They became known the following year and were propelled onto the international scene.

In 1974, he left the Wailers and embarked on a solo career.

He then multiplies the titles and concerts throughout the world.

Two of his albums - Time Will Tell: A Tribute to Bob Marley and Hall of Fame: Tribute to Bob Marley's 50th Anniversary - received Grammy Awards, in 1990 and 1995.

At the end of 2019, Playing for Change, which wants to spread a message of peace through music, brought together Manu Chao and Bushman and Bunny Wailer to perform "Soul Rebel", a flagship song of the Wailers.

Bunny Wailer was until then the last survivor of the Wailers.

Bob Marley died in 1981 at the age of 36 from cancer.

Peter Tosh had himself been assassinated in 1987 against a backdrop of settling of scores.
