(ANSA) - ROME, 02 MAR - "The Next Generation EU is an instrument of fundamental importance as it aims to finance, with common resources, reforms capable of raising potential growth, for the benefit of the entire community". This was underlined by the member of the executive committee of the ECB, Fabio Panetta, in a webinar organized by Bocconi on monetary policy and exit from the pandemic, explaining that "the member states will be able to seize this opportunity, by implementing the necessary reforms, it will be possible to derive considerable benefits for European citizens, creating the conditions to move towards structural and budgetary policies at European level ". Panetta also added that "we must continue to stimulate the economy for the time necessary to exit the crisis strengthened, without structural damage. Currently the risks of too mild economic support far outweigh the risks that could derive from excessive stimulus". Therefore "temptations" to withdraw stimuli in advance must be avoided. (HANDLE).
