The national vaccination strategy currently provides on paper that corona vaccinations only take place in so-called vaccination centers.
But that could change soon: Health Minister Jens Spahn would like to expand the vaccination options.

This measure is intended to drive up the vaccination quota in Germany more quickly.
As of March 1, 2021, 2,159,412 people in Germany were fully vaccinated, which corresponds to 2.6 percent of the total population, according to the government's vaccination dashboard.
If you also take into account those who have already received the first dose of vaccine, 5.1 percent of Germans have already been vaccinated.
For comparison: In Great Britain the vaccination quota is 29.87 percent, in the USA 15.17 percent and in Israel 55.13 percent of the residents have already been vaccinated against corona, reports the Ärztezeitung.
Since Germany is lagging behind here, Spahn's proposal meets with open ears: In some federal states, pilot projects are already starting that provide for the implementation of corona vaccinations at the family doctor.
As the editorial network Germany (RND) informs, five general practitioners' practices in Lower Saxony started with corona vaccinations on March 1st as part of such projects.
"In order to run through the logistics and storage of the vaccines and the technical processes, in particular, and to gain experience with the practical implementation in everyday life, we first start a short test phase of about two weeks in the nine pilot practices," the RND quotes Carola Reimann, who Lower Saxony Minister of Health: "
It is expected that from April onwards, significantly more practices in Lower Saxony will be able to be on board
." Exactly which doctors will carry out the vaccinations has not been disclosed.

Corona vaccinations: GPs should relieve vaccination centers
Also in Thuringia, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg and Saarland, projects have started or have started that enable corona vaccination at the family doctor.
