(ANSA) - ROME, 02 MAR - "The increase in the slope of the curve of nominal yields weighted for GDP that we are observing is not desirable and must be opposed". This was stated by the member of the executive committee of the ECB, Fabio Panetta, in an unwebinar organized by Bocconi on monetary policy and the exit from the pandemic, explaining that "last week the ineuro rates on all maturities, including those without risk, remained well above of the levels recorded at the beginning of this year ". So "there is no reason to hesitate to increase the volume of purchases and to spend the entire budget of the PEPP - or even more, if necessary", indicated Panetta. (HANDLE).
