Orin Raz (17), a 12-year-old student from Pisgat Ze'ev, was treated at Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus after being tested in Corona and recovering from the virus. Especially in children.

Hadassah warns that this is the 35th case diagnosed in them, while so far in the country, about 50 cases of the severe and life-threatening syndrome, also called PIMS, have been reported.

Pediatricians note that early treatment for the syndrome has proven effective, and that in light of the widespread opening of the education system on Sunday, they want to emphasize the symptoms of the disease, when in children it is often not known that they were sick in Corona.

Dana, Orin's mother, says that she did not suspect at all that the symptoms her daughter was suffering from were related to the corona virus in which she had been infected a month earlier, in a very mild way.

"We all got sick, we parents were in a worse condition but Orin got it very easy. She was suffering from stomach aches and fever. I was sure she was only suffering from something related to the digestive system. But when the pain got worse the syndrome was diagnosed and she was hospitalized in a very serious condition in the intensive care unit."

"Today she feels a little better, is recovering a little and can get up and walk - but is still very weak and the color has not returned before her. Before her eyes are the matriculation exams, pre-military preparatory and military service and now there is another way to recover. I urge all parents to pay attention to "This syndrome, vaccinate and not listen to the nonsense that is published on the net against vaccines by people who do not understand it at all. It is life-threatening," she added.

Data from the Association for Infectious Diseases in Children show that so far about 50 cases of the syndrome have been reported in Israel.

To date, about 258,000 children and adolescents up to the age of 19 have been infected in Corona in Israel. The prevalence of the syndrome is only about 0.019%.

Dr. Michal Stein, chairman of the Association for Infectious Diseases in Children and director of the Infectious Diseases Unit at Hillel Yaffe, who collected the data with Prof. Shalom Ben-Shimol of Soroka, explained, "The prevalence of the syndrome in Israel is similar to a worldwide report. If every two million children in Israel were infected, we would talk about 500 cases of the syndrome

"It is important to be vigilant, especially now and bring the child to treatment if you notice symptoms such as fever, rash, redness and swelling of the tongue.

"The children do not always develop corona symptoms and we only find out in retrospect in a serological examination."
