(ANSA) - BEIJING, 03 MAR - China aims to reduce the density of the Uyghur population in Xinjiang, as a further measure of persecution of the Muslim minority by carrying forward what human rights experts and some governments call a 'cultural genocide'. For a study accidentally published online and taken up by the international media, Xinjiang's work programs are also designed to dilute their presence as much as possible by spreading it in the region so as to make it lose its cultural identity. The report from the University of Nankai was removed in mid-2020, but a copy had been archived. (HANDLE).
