(ANSA) - MADRID, MARCH 03 - Storm over the sisters of the king of Spain Felipe VI, Elena and Cristina: according to the newspapers ElConfidencial and El Mundo, both have already vaccinated themselves against covid during a visit to their father Juan Carlos, who lives in the Emirates United Arabs since last August.

Both Elena, 57, and Cristina, 55, are not considered part of the categories that are having priority in vaccination in Spain.

The news, anticipated last night by the digital newspaper ElConfidencial, provoked indignant reactions from representatives of the government, formed by the Socialist Party and Unidas Podemos, reported by the media.

"Very bad", commented Miquel Iceta, Minister of Territorial Policies, adding that conducts of this type cause "distrust" in the institutions.

"The Spanish company does not accept" these attitudes, said the vice president according to PabloIglesias.

"Our country will be better with a republic," he added.

The Royal House has neither confirmed nor denied, adding that the members of the current royal family - made up of Felipe VI, his wife Letizia and daughters Leonor and Sofía - are not yet vaccinated and will wait their turn.

"The king is not responsible for the actions of the sisters," fontivicine told the monarch.
