Dolly Parton, country singer:

“Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine.

I beg you, please do not hesitate!

Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, because once you're dead it's a little too late. "

Dolly Parton had herself vaccinated against Corona - and for this she rewrote her best-known hit »Jolene«.

As a 75-year-old, it was the country singer's turn and got her first injection.

Dolly Parton, country singer:

“I've waited quite a while.

I am old enough and smart enough to be vaccinated.

I am very happy to have my Moderna injection today.

And I advise you all to do the same! "

Dolly Parton donated $ 1 million to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville last April.

The facility successfully developed the vaccine together with the drug manufacturer Moderna.

So Parton was now benefiting from her own donation.

Dolly Parton, country singer:

“The sooner we feel better, the sooner we may be normal again.

That's why I want to say to all the cowards out there: don't be scared!

Go out and get your syringe! "

The Moderna vaccine is around 94 percent effective and has been approved in the United States since the end of last year.

It has been administered in the EU and Germany since January.

Dolly Parton, country singer:

“Didn't hurt at all.

It burned just a little, but that was probably due to the alcohol swab. "

[Doctor reaches for plaster]

“A plaster?

No!

Ruin my beauty mark?

Just kidding.

Do what you have to do.

After all, I don't want blood on my clothes.

Hey, I did it! "
